How do I stop the OmniPod beeping?

Is there any way to use an OmniPod without sound?

I keep reading stories about them beeping, and people being unable to turn them off, having to resort to breaking them open and taking the batteries out. This sounds like it would be horrible if it happened in public or in a sensitive situation.

Is this true? Is it possible to stop them beeping?

I have emailed OmniPod about this but no answer yet.

When does it beep? I don't have this pump but mine beeps when a temporary basal finishes or when there is occlusion. Granted mine only beeps when I should be aware of what's happening.

I dont think its possible to prevent a pump beeping altogether as the beeps serve as a warning to tell you something. Its possible to turn down the sound settings though. I have my pump set to beep not too loud but I also set it to vibrate as well which works out fairly good
