How do you cope with the common cold as a diabetic?

I’m a recently retired Midwife and I can tell you that staff have been on warnings of suspension or sacking for having cancer and mental health issues so going sick with anything other than life threatening sickness is incredibly hard, especially if you know that instead of the four Midwives there should be, without me, there would be one, and that’s how we end up in court, in front of the NMC or mentally, permanently damaged.
