how does T1D affect your moods?

When I'm high I feel thirsty and irritable.

When I'm low, I feel weak, hot, shaky and my vision goes a bit funny, which can make me anxious. Lows also make me tearful sometimes too.

I can't think straight or concentrate when I'm high. It makes me feel like a failure and any length of time high makes me very frustrated and tearful.

I don't notice any mood impact from being low, it's the default position.

High? I wish I was the only guy on the planet..

Low? I am the only guy on the on this rock....!

when high -- totally irritable and ****** off with myself because I am sure I caused it
( also thirsty and tired too )

when low -- it depends on how low
sweaty brow , invisible trembling in my hands , quick to snap , tearful , little bit of loss of concentration are the most common
along with sometimes green haloes in my field of vision.

being short tempered is the most common outward mood thing.

No mood swings at all.

High BG I'm very thirsty and frequently visit the toilet till my bg has returned to normal, also can feel a bit lethargic.

To be honest high BG's are not as common these days thankfully now I'm on an insulin pump.

Low BG, confused and find it very difficult to work out simple tasks, aldo sometimes a depressed feeling.

Regards

Martin

High's just bring about frustration more than anything else, especially if there isn't a obvious cause no matter how hard I look. The frustration is short-lived as I tend to shrug things off easily and move on from things rather than dwell on them, other than that I just get a slight headache if the high is prolonged and notice my eyesight isn't as good so tend not to drive.

Low's, still have good hypo awareness symptoms so get the hungry, sweaty feelings and for some reason always feel the need to go for a pee, again when they occur I don't dwell on it as it's par for the course when you have type 1 diabetes no matter how well your controlled

Highs- chest pains, thirst, blurred vision, headache, tearful, moody, angry, frustrated, fatigued, and after correcting my muscles ache.

Lows- palpitations, headache, sweating, shaking, dizzy.

Lows tend to affect me physically while the highs affect me more psychologically.
