It's an interesting question. I've always been a pretty anxious person and get stressed very easily. T1D has absolutely not helped in that regard; I am a bit of a perfectionist so constantly striving for "perfect" blood sugars which means I never have a second off and I am constantly stressing and checking my levels - so the biggest change to my life has probably been more stress. It's hard enough to deal with work, relationships, bills and general "real life" but when you add T1D into the mix it can really send stress levels soaring, so I think the phrase "diabetes burn out" is so true. I wish we could all take a day off once in a while. Having said all that, it hasn't really stopped me doing anything and even though I have a very stressful job I have managed to keep it post diagnosis. I still eat the same foods and do the same exercise. I was diagnosed in December 2014 and have been lucky enough to have always had CGM, the thought of dealing with T1D without CGM literally gives me shivers.
