I have just been diagnosed as type 2 and started metformin last night (1 x850 in morning and same in evening) along with something to lower cholesterol. My hb1a was 9.5.
My question is :How long is too long between meals and could it have an adverse reaction while taking metformin?
The reason I ask this is because I work 9am to 2.30/3.00 pm. I usually have toast about 7.30am and then wait til I come home before having lunch. I normally have some chocolate during the day at work but obviously this is now a no no!
Can I still wait til I come home to have something to eat or should I have lunch at work?
I have ordered a testing monitor but it will be 5 days before it arrives so I can't test yet to see what works and what doesn't. (was refused monitor at clinic yesterday and have signed e-petition at directgov-for all those type 2 who have been refused a monitor)
Any advice/help would be really appreciated.
