How long did it take to get your insulin levels right?

I was diagnosed last week and my insulin has been steadily increased from 2-8. However my blood sugar is still between 7 and 14. I know they will continue to increase but just wondered if anyone else experienced the same?

Also, very occasionally I have noticed after my insulin my cheeks get really hot......is this normal?!

Thanks in advance.

My blood sugar is mainly around 7, but it does range between 5 & 10. So many things send it either up or down. I tend to know what affects it, but it has never been any better than it is now...
I was diagnosed in 1977

How far along are you in pregnancy? i'm type 1 but in my last pregnancy around 20 weeks my insulin requirements drastically changed, i went from injecting approx 4units with meals (i carb count) to injecting 10units, then from there i upped it every week. Insulin resistance really starts mid pregnancy so i often had to wait 20 minutes after injecting before eating (though not everyone chooses to do this) I hope things improve soon, just take each day as it comes x
