How long did it take?

Hi Lynz84. I don't think you can put a time frame on it - some people just accept it and others don't, sometimes you cope better with it than others and sometimes you just get so frustrated because nothing makes sense and you want to be just NORMAL and eat something you fancy, when you fancy, or not, as the case may be, and sometimes you get so sick of sticking needles in yourself or stabbing your fingers! I've been doing this thing for 48 years and reckon I must be around the 100,000 injections mark but still get hypos, sometimes explainable, sometimes for no apparent reason whatsoever and I just wish I could go on holiday and have a couple of weeks off having diabetes.
 
As scotlady says, it would be wonderful to be able to have time off from diabetes, especially whilst on holiday. After 51 years, I still wonder why me and not someone else in the family?
 

I know what you mean. I grieve for my son's health every day. He was diagnosed 9 months ago. Every day, I wish it was me :-(
 
Ive had type 1 for 20 years and i still hate it to bits i try to hide it from everyone tho its alot harder now with the pump during my teenage years was horrible but now i have my son im trying sooo much harder i have mainly good days but some are bad and i just cry coz i always think im failing only just found this forum so hoping for support myself x
