Steroids are assumed to be the root cause and I have stopped taking them after discussing all this with the diabetes clinic, but even with very tight controls over every meal and lots of exercise I get a sudden 14. It's going to mean having to go on to insulin if it keeps up much longer. My only hope is that, rather than having permanently messed up my system, this is just the lingering effects of the steroids and that it will stop after a while. My doctors are very vague about how long the effects of the steroids might last, so I was just wondering whether anyone had any personal experience of this sort of thing?</p></blockquote><p></p>
