How long should I wait?

Hi ramtops,
It is obviously a worry for you not knowing the results. I would phone and ask and if they are not available yet then ask when they are expected.
Catherine.

What was the urine to be tested for?
Many urine tests are simple dip sticks, so the answers are instantaneous( or 5 minutes) some have to be sent off to the lab. Those take longer.
Simple tests for urine sugar take about 30 seconds.
Ring them and ask and if they are not ready ask for a time frame.

I had to take a sample of urine at my yearly diabetes checkup. I think it was for kidney function. I never got the results so I presume they were okay.
I did ring about my Hb1Ac results and I was given them over the phone. The receptionist that answered the phone was reluctant to give them to me, cos she didn't understand them  She told me the doc had seen the results and wasn't concerned. When I told her that I would understand the results she then told me what they were.
Maybe give the docs a ring and find out what the results were, although if they are just annual checks and they are clear, you will probably not get to know until your next appointment.

ramtops,

In my gp surgery we are told to wait a minimum of 5 days before phoning for urine/blood results, and as you had your test taken on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday may not count. I would wait at least until Thursday before following this up.
