I do not have diabetes
I noticed the RDA in the UK is 230g daily or so it says on a can of weight watchers tuna.
I've been working out my daily intake and it comes to 228.5 daily.
Is this good or bad ? I'm yet undiagnosed.

How does one differentiate between carbs and calories, do they have different measurements ?

I've not taken into account my evening meal which is usually for example a portion of fresh salmon with plenty of vegetables, broccoli, carrot, cauliflower and peas, no potato.

I have 2 Oatibix for breakfast and before bed with warm milk and a glass of milk before bed. At the moment until diagnosed I still use sugar but in very small amounts such as using a small half teaspoon in the sugar bowl. I put about one and half of these on cereal and in decaf tea. If I don't I get hypoglycaemic.
I don't have a cup of tea often as I alternate with unsweetened herbal tea such as camomile.
Thanks in advance.

Everyone here will have different recommendations about carb intake. Really, it's down to you and how well your body can tolerate them.

If you're having problems with hypoglycemia but you're not taking any insulin or other blood glucose lowering medication then you'll need to speak to your doctor. I also get what could be classed as hypoglycemic readings sometimes when I test out the meters we get in the office, but I don't have diabetes or reactive hypoglycemia. Just means your pancreas is working!

Giverny is absolutely correct that everyone will have a different tolerance however most of us who are diagnosed diabetic and are controlling with just what we eat and / or minimal drugs would say 230g is too high. I would guess the average consumption across people on the forum controlling by diet is around 120g with some being able to do more and others less depending on their individual tolerance. If your blood tests are coming back as normal then 230g is likely fine unless its making you put on loads of weight. If you've been told you are heading towards diabetic blood sugars then the easiest thing to do is cut out as much sugar as you can but just as importantly reduce the amount of starchy foods you eat so reduce rice, pasta, bread, potatoes, cereals and anything else made of flour. Starch and sugar both effect blood sugars strongly and some white versions of starchy foods are just as bad as eating pure sugar. On the starchy foods you keep eating swap to the brown versions where possible. Replace with extra veg, meat, cheese, eggs i.e. things that don't have any or very little starch and sugar.
