How many of you actually carry your monitors around with you?

So... Who has an emergency bag for hospitalisation or holidays?

I do. Its got a spare everything in for my pump and OH would just need to take it. Had to use a few times in the last two years...spare strips in it, service packs, batteries, sets and the stabbing machine. Only thing he would need to do now is to get my charger for the handset.. Must make a note of that and tell him and to staple on the outside of the bag.

Never had an emergency bag DD, if I need to go in hospital or going away for a few days I just pack my diabetes supplies the night before, although I expect that might change next year when I start on a pump, but you are very organised having one there for such occasions
 
Given the number of times I've been in hospital over the years, which I can count on 2 fingers, I've not felt the need for one. As I tend to carry meter and both insulin around anyway, there is little need to have something set up.

Valid point - to have access to pop into a chemist and request a payment free BS check .
Ideal option for those of us possibly out without a meter kit .

Thank you for bringing this valuable option to all our attention .
 
Best be prepared... Esp on pump..as you never know what can happen.

Just look at the poor people caught in Glasgow accident.... You never know what can happen...
 

Thank you Anna. I know that sometimes, well a lot of the time I get carried away with joking posts and taking the Michael out of other members but it is all in good fun. However I do have a serious side and whenever something like the above comes along that I think could help others, I will report it on here and hope it will help others like they've helped me.
 

Nope not me, but I see where you are coming from with this so maybe it's time I had one.
However, if I'd have had a bag ready from the last time I was in hospital to when I went in on November 14th this year, I don't think my 3-4 yr old clothes would have fitted anymore and I'd have looked pretty silly with my teddy and Golliwog.

when I was a little girl .
Can still remember this memory vividly .

He had a red,white,black striped suit on .
I loved 'him' too .

Yep - I used to have
Rosie - my teddy
Jacko - my gollywog (named him after the Jacksons pop group)
Dolls too all lined up and would play for hours on end happily at nurse's .
Taking care of them all ...

This stemmed from spending so much time in hospital
as a child .
Role played and re-enacted out all that happened in real life to me .
 
Mine was knitted by my mum!! And little miniature statues too...

Take it with me for work or if going out for day. Not for going for walks.
 
I don't generally bother. I take it to work if I have a b/fast that I've never had before but both they, and my lunches, are tried and tested so there's no need.
