How many strips do you get through a month?

Prior to CGM I tested about 8-10 times a day then also followed the pre-driving and 2hr testing regime if on long journey. Now I'm on the CGM I test about 4 times a day just to check and calibrate the CGM. So I guess I have saved the NHS maybe 8 strips each day, or a box of 50 each week or 52 boxes each year, but get no help for the CGM costs.

Boots charge £29 per box, so £1450 each year saved (I know NHS don't pay the full price).

This thread has been really useful to me.

My decision is that I plan to test on average 3 times a day - fasting, pre and post my main meal; which ever that transpires to be on any given day. Clearly there will be times when I am routinely eating "known" food and the need to test will be less, and vice versa, but I think I'll want to commit to my fasting levels daily, as a bit of a consistent benchmark.

I have ordered my 6 months worth of strips (rounded up to 500), so beware there may be a short-term shortage out there in the marketplace! Should I get exceptionally lucky and manage to persuade my practise to prescribe strips, I'll just have some spare. Thereafter, I'm just going to have to hope the heat doesn't adversely affect them, because sure as heck it has a massively beneficial effect on me!

This post isn't meant to close down the thread to anyone else wishing to post, but just to give you guys feedback for the help you have given me.
