How much bran to add?

After reading Hana's question about two hour testing, and the subsequent posts and articles, I did some extra testing and found that I'd been missing my spike. I've now reduced my carbs further, particularly the breakfast ones, which seemed to cause the biggest problem, by cutting out the oats that I was having with my yoghurt and berries.

This has led to another problem so I think I need to add some more fibre. Can anyone give me any idea which is better wheat bran or oat bran; how much to add (to 125g yoghurt) and whether it has any carb content that I should be cautious about?

Many thanks

I'm no expert but IanD is, I think!! His almond porridge is sensational and that has 1 dessert spoon of OAT BRAN added to it. So I should imagine that you could add that, or part of that to your yogurt no problem. IanD gave his almond porridge recipe to me and ever since, I've been eating that with added berries. It doesn't spike the glucose reading, fills you up and gives you enough energy until lunch. Happy to jot down his recipe for you, if you'd like.

Thanks, Cathy I'll give that a try tomorrow.

I don't actually like the consistency of porridge but do like the texture and taste of oats.

I'm hoping that in time, as my weight decreases, I may be able to add some back in.
