How much protein should I be eating per day? I looked at older posts and was a bit confused I saw one that said 0.8 per kg or 1.1 per kg of my weight. I'm currently 82kg down from 95kg but today I had a blood test at the hospital and for the 2nd time my uric acid is too high . The doctor didn't share actual numbers with me today but he said my blood sugar was good as well as cholesterol, kidneys and liver .

This is just my personal opinion But sometimes I think we all go through a period of counting the calories carbs protein etc. and worry if we have to many carbs Now I have been Taking my blood sugar readings for about 20 years at first numerous time a day on waking--before and after meals Bedtime. and sometimes if you feel odd in between you test as well so could be over 10 times a day after a while you get to know what to eat and what not to eat you get to know how your body feels you know if you have strayed and adjust over the next couple of meals. Yes I still measure if I Eat something out of my normal diet or feel strange but normally I test twice a day Basically when I awaken (before eating within 1 hour.) and Late afternoon at 5pm I. and stop counting sh In between I do not follow any particular Diet I follow what I tend to call Sensible eating diet I check my weight regularly and listen to what my body (gut ) is telling me. no longer count anything .I am in Thailand so I do eat Rice but only a little.I do eat bread ccasionaly. and potatoes but in moderation I have one meal a day wich is Vegiterian Salad no meat or cheese so relax and enjoy your life just Make sure your weight is not increasing and is if it needs to coming down and your sugar levels are Falling and you feel ok yes be aware of what you eat but stop worrying too much

Thanks for that but I don't test myself I only rely on my doctors readings and I need to lower my protein. Breakfast would usually be egg , cheese , 1 slice of bread and some milk in my coffee sometimes altogether or sometimes a combination .I've been snacking on nuts so will cut them out . Dinner would usually be chicken with salad or veg or Tuna fish in a can (I can't stand any other fish), with salad .
I just feel like its a catch 22 at the moment if I go higher end of carbs I get stomach issues, if I go lower my protein goes up .I was only diagnosed in September so trying to find a balance is really hard.
