In 2010 i was in the Philippines.I had and accident and ripped all the tendons and muscles of my knee cap.I had to have an operation to repair it.While in hospital ,the doctor said,do know you have diabetes.Shock Horror.no i said yes he said you've been diabetic for 6 months.I'd had a routine blood test etc.3 weeks prior to going to the Phils.I phone the surgery in the U.K and asked about the results of my test. They said my tests were normal, nothing to worry about. My surgical wound healed up .I felt fine so i forgot about the diabetes.Fast foward to 2015 .I had the usual check up a few days later the doctor rang me up to tell me I had very high blood sugar, could i make an appointment to see her.She gave me a prescription for Metformin .which i never took,She insisted i took statins .I refused.so she got nasty.I walked out of her surgery never to return.6 months ago i developed weeping none healing ulcers on my lower legs.I had to get my blood sugar down .I didn't fancy having my legs chopped off, making me shorter than ever.I went on 24 hour alternate fasting diet.At the start of the diet ,my weight was 14 st 10lbs.My fasting blood sugar readings were between 10.8 mml and 16+mml .Now my weight is 11 st 7lbs.My fasting blood sugar readings are between 3.7 mml and 5.8 mml. I can eat what i like without any adverse effects.I feel very much better. My leg ulcers have healed.,the feeling in my feet and toes have returned to normal.I don't have to get up in the night 12 or 13 to go to the toilet.no more frightening dizzy spells or hot sweats. The hot aches and stabbing pains in my feet have gone.I now consider myself free of diabetes.despite what these so called doctors say.Finding a decent doctor is difficult they are few and far between. If i'd taken the treatment the doctor was offering.I now would probably in a wheelchair, weighing 20 st with no feet or legs,or probably dead. Most diabetics i have known have died.some quite young. The problem is i am retired.i used to get good treatment on the NHS.when i was younger.Since I retired at 65 I found the treatment at this malpractice has gone right down the pan.I haven't seen a doctor in over 2 years.I treat myself ,sucessfully up to now.In conclusion ,try the fasting diet out it worked for me.It may work for you.I found it easy to get used .Better than calorie controlled diets.I bought a book by Dr.Jason Fung.A Complete Guide to Fasting. It gives all the information you need to know about fasting diets.Money well spent in my opinion.or you can find him on Utube.I watched a Panorama programme last nighr .about diabetes.
