Hi that's happening to me, I have been going to bed in single, but not too low fiqures and still have a breakfast hypo. Last night before bed BS was 4.6, so I took less night time Insulin and this morning, woke up to 6.8 :-) so no low, which was great.
I hope you find a good solution soon. Take care.

If my bs was 4.6 before bed i wouldnt take the nitetime dose ,then see what it was in the morning, probably between 6/7 which would be ok, then low carb brekky to start the day.
Take care ,stay positive.

Hello,

Just out of curiosity. What were the levels dong toward the end of the day..? Specifically readings before tea/supper/evening meal.?

Reduce your basal insulin by a unit or two and test your bg for a few nights after, if your basal insulin is set at the right dose your bg shouldn't fluctuate much more than 1.5mmol.

Hi jaylee I hope you are enjoying the weekend so far.

7th May, before bad 7.4 then,
8th May, Breakfast 7.2
Lunch 4,9
Dinner 9.1 ( this is because I was going to do gardening after lunch, and didn't !)
Bedtime 4.6
I hope this may help you, but just wanted to add;- I would never NOT take night time Insulin unless it was advised/requested by a medical professional . Have a lovely weekend and take care.

Hi, yes I'm enjoying my weekend thanks.. Just prepping up to do a gig tonight..
Don't worry.. I'd never skip the basal.. I've been T1 for nearly 38 years, but there is still plenty to learn on this forum! ;)

The reason I asked was more to do with the basal slacking toward the end of the day with regard to lowering the dose the night before. Maybe causing the odd high before supper which would get put in place by the bolus for the meal as well as consideration for the high..?

Lol I've recently been having hypos in the morning too.. Though I've been happy to bed down on the readings.. I'm hypo aware which always wakes me up... I don't have "hypophobia". Personally I would feel uneasy about hitting the sack at 4.6.... (6.5 to 8 is more my style.)

Have a great evening doing your gig? I tend to be more sedate in the afternoon's and my BS can be a little higher, but the morning/early afternoon is always busy and active, so BS is normally pretty good. Had a sedate afternoon, so going to test now. Take care :-)
