Hello lozzy96 .

You dont say how old you are ?

Some people who may be quite shy and private persons , can struggle
to open up about their feelings .
This can make it much harder to share their real feelings about how they are feeling
and coping with their diabetes .

If you are struggling ? Is there a close friend or school/college pal
you can talk to? [this is sometimes an easier place to start ]
Some young persons can be feel better with a good chat with a close friend, or teacher
as they may feel they wouldnt judge nor tell them off .
Plus trust is a thing you may feel is important - who can you trust and feel comfortable with .

Are you with a DSN [diabetic specilaist nurse?]
How would you feel about discussing any difficulties with her/him?

You would feel soooo much better to get things off your chest

You can use here if you wish to - just ask any questions that you feel or need to .
Many members do this - starting here , as there is so much support and great understanding .
No question is a daft one either ... :)

Hope this can help you feel a bit better .

Anna .

Hello lozzy

I'm so sorry to hear you are feeling so down. I agree with what has said. The other thing which is often a good way of getting things out of your system is writing your thoughts and feelings in a diary. Also you could try and write a letter to your family members explaining how difficult you are finding things and about expressing yourself.

I hope you can find an outlet and please take care of yourself and your diabetes.

' No one can go back and make a new start. Anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending' :)

Take care and best wishes RRB

Hi lozzy96,

When I was diagnosed type2 many years ago I was asked by the doctor if I had any sisters younger than me. I replied yes, 4. He then said I had to go home and phone them to tell them to get tested for diabetes, if I had it, there was a very strong chance they had it. Diabetes is nothing to feel ashamed about. Just tell your family that you didn't have the nerve back then, but you feel ok about it now. After all, you were diagnosed in 2008, you sound as though you can manage it just fine. Lose a worry and tell them, and if they don't like it you send 'em round to US on this forum, we'll put 'em right!
