Hi just tested my bs and there 9.1
I've had busy day on feet so to speak
I ate one cracker jacobs new seeded for breakfast and for lunch I had three more crackers with soft cheese and tomotoes.
Plus I had one suger free rum and raison toffee.
How on earth do I work out which it is...

It could be because you haven't eaten much that your liver has dumped some glucose to keep you going.

Or it could be the crackers, maybe.

The rum and raisin toffee sounds interesting. Do you have a link? It could be the delicious culprit so we need to see it :hungry:

I got then from the old fashioned sweet shop .they say sugar free for diabetics (I didn't buy them my husband did bless him)
I thought the seeded jacobs crackers would of been good choice as I've gave up bread ..sob sob

The toffees sound lovely. I guess a process of elimination would help to pinpoint the food that has spiked you, but as Lenny says, your liver could be the guilty party. Sorry, not much help.

It looks like the crackers are 5-7g per biscuit, depending on exactly which variety they are.

Unfortunately, just because something is marketed as diabetic friendly, it often means sugar free, but still carb laden.

When first diagnosed, I found I had as many challenges around not eating enough as I did finding the correct things for me to eat. Doing without didn't lower my bloods, but just brought my liver into play, and a sense of seep frustration. At that stage my liver would raise my sugars by about 2mmol/L. These days my liver dump impacts by something like 0.3mmol/L, as far as I can tell, without super-obsessive-manic testing.

Over time, things get easier. It's worth putting the effort in to try to get a handle on these things. :)

Yes crackers are 6 carbs each but I thought as I was having cheese (no carbs really and tomotoes ) they would be ok as only 18carbs for three for a meal..my single cracker this morning didn't touch my bs they were 5.1 before and 5.4 after..its was just my lunch..and its so hard to get it right at times. On the plus side my hb thingy test came back as diabeties well controled lol..(Well till today he he

You might find you can tolerate carbs better at different times of day. I can't touch carbs till at least lunch time. Even then I can't have much. I'm a very low carber. I aim for 30g a day or less, I'm very intolerant to them.

I checked out a tin of sugar free sweets in Boots yesterday. They were 98% carbohydrates! Forgot to look at the ingredients though.

Oh ****** I only had one sweet..I'm trying to be under 100 carbs ish
