My husband has type 2 for the last 7 years but over the last 12 months his bloods levels have crept up last was 76! Well he has at last opened his eyes and agreed to go on a low carb diet his readings that I did went from 14.5 on Sunday to 13.1 yesterday so how long before I can get him into better readings so worried

For myself the low carb was a slow process to see results in blood glucose levels - they did drop but it was over several weeks.

I would say keep with it for a month and keep records and you should see a real noticeable difference by then.

It took me 5 weeks to get from 13.1 down to 9.8 by cutting out food with sugar and not eating bread, and a few more weeks after starting LCHF to get down to 6.2.

Measure blood glucose regularly and you should see a significant drop on a low carb diet within a few weeks.
