I had my 2nd bloods and have driven it down from 79 on diagnosis to 48 in 8 weeks !!!! i just wanted to say a massive thanks to everyone here who uas helped me on my journey.. the advice has been game changing. Still a long way to go but i hope to continue down. To anyone who is just starting out .. use this forum, the advice I got about diet from the NHS was not great but the advice here is second to none as we are all living with T2/1 and the best advice is from others also travelling the journey !!!! ))))

so a little outline … diagnosed by accident after a water infection, it was quite a shock as i had no other symptoms. Had a meeting with DN who put me on 500mg metformin once a day. She wasnt helpful with diet at all and came away no wiser on what i could eat or drink. Found this forum and posted for help and advice and I got it … went low carb 40-50g a day and I tested tested tested and experimented until I a list of good foods and no go’s, it was hard to start with but i found my way and have never felt better and have lost 3stone as a bonus .. still got a lot of weight to loose but low carb seems to be the way after years of thinking I was eating healthy.. fruit, pasta etc ( ex Slimming World Member). I still havent gone LCHF but what I am doing is working and getting results and not hungry at all .I also eat round my plate which was a really great piece of advice .. fibre 1st protein 2nd and any carbs last …. on my first all inclusive as I write and have managed to eat some fruit and bread and pasta with leas than a 1point rise on BGL so happy days !!!

Very well done! Keep up the good work!
