Hi,

Just a quick question regarding the above. My mum was changed onto this from Lantus she’s not sure why. Her blood sugars were fine on the Lantus but since changing to the Humalin her blood sugars are all over the place. Her evening dose is meant to be taken 1/2 before her tea is this correct? She doesn’t know why she was changed over, her HBA1C has now gone up to 10.6.
 
Hi, I was on this and to my knowledge it was a mix and of long acting and short acting insulin, (70/30 split if I recall correctl) which does need to be injected 30mins before eating. I also found my sugars hard to control on this and was eventually changed to a different regime. If your Mum is finding it hard then I would suggest going back to your doctor/ dsn and explaining the issues she is having.
