Type 2 hungry all day

hi im steve.

im type 2 diabetic and take tablets, zicron,

ive got a feeling in the top part of my stomach, thats making me feel very hungry, ive eaten 3 meals today, cereal, roast dinner and omelette,ive had this feeling for two days now, should i go to my doctors.

Hi. If this feeling is unusual then may be a doctors visit makes sense. Zicron (Gliclazide in the UK) doesn't normally cause noticeable side effects other than hypos if the dose is too high. Are you testing your blood sugar? Do get a meter if you haven't already got one. Cereals are not an ideal food for us so check the overall carbs and portion size to keep the mealtime carbs at a sensible level.
 
Hi, don't have a meter, and always eat shredded wheat.will goto docs thanks
 
Your hunger could be a symptom of high blood sugar.... so a good idea to get a meter to check. If you find your sugar is high when you feel this way then at least you know it is the diabetes causing the symptom and not something else... and it wouldn't matter if you ate or not as you'd feel hungry regardless. Although it still is probably a good idea to discuss with your doc as maybe you need to adjust your medication.
