I get hyperglycemia at night (280mg/dl 2hours after meals) and the condition remains for 2 days before becoming normal. How can overcome hyperglycemia at night?
How are your levels in the day? Speak to your DSN about any changes to medication but if its running high between meals and when you wake up it sounds like your basal (Lantus/ Levemir/ Tresiba) needs to be increased.
hi there and welcome
there are a few things you could look at to lower the post meal spike in the evening.
but you should discuss any potential changes to your medication with your diabetes care team first.
lower the amount of carbs in the meal.
increase the amount of fast acting insulin you take with the meal
adjust the timing of the dose to 20-30 minutes before eating to lessen spike.
exercise after the evening meal
Thanks. I play badminton in the morning. takes rice containing food with proteins in small quantity in the morning and noon and whest food with proteins at night. i consume very less quantity. its high when i stress out at work and wont be able to make it to normal for some 2days. i find wheat food at night helps me in maintaining glucose level when i am fit but nothing helps when i am high.
