Hi
I am thinking about investing in a hypoband and, I have read a thread about this, and just wanted to ask if it actually helps. I was diagnosis at 51 and put straight on insulin, so early days for me. I find my blood glucose test just before bed varies between 4.7-6.9 ( averages out around 5.2) which means I am having to have a bedtime snack as I was told to if it's less than 6 due to reducing risk of nocturnal hypo. I had one nocturnal hypo before I even knew they existed hence the advice given to me by diabetic nurse. I am also worried about having a hypo whilst driving as I do drive a lot in my job and, I am wondering if this device is all states so would be interested to hear from others who have.
Thanks

Sorry for some reason the title of this question is something I can't edit- it should be hypoband

Hi @1rnold
I've been using the hypoband for a little while now and to be honest...I'm not sure I would rate it too highly. While the customer service is great in terms of getting the right threshold and regular reviews on whether it's working...I have a lot of problems with it going off at random times for no apparent reason...I'm told this is most likely due to increased humidity...although nightmare's can also trigger it. While it does give a little peace of mind...having not had it alert me during a hypo yet...I can't really give an opinion on whether it's worth the money.

In terms of night time hypo's...perhaps you would be best to do some basal testing. If you're going low during the night it's most likely due to basal dose being slightly too high. Might be worth bringing up with your DN.
