Another vote here for the G6. I had been offered a Libre by my hospital endo, but had heard feedback from T1 friends and some american research that it can lag blood levels quite substantially when levels are falling rapidly. Before the G6 came out I previously experimented (self funded) with the Medtronic Guardian CGM linked to my iPhone. This was definitely an improvement on finger pricks, but difficult to insert properly and if on a 4G network the sensors may last only 5 days. In my opinion the G6 is a step up. £160 pm is not cheap, but sensors are guaranteed for 10 days and so far Dexcom have been excellent at replacing any sensors that fail (2 stopped transmitting, 1 fell off). The call agents are very helpful - I think all I spoke to so far were themselves Type 1s. Works well with my iPhone (alerts default to being very loud), I think a bit more complicated with Android phones? If you could self fund a G6 for the time being, it may help your case to be front of the queue when they are available on the NHS in your area.

Have you tried skintac for the skin sensitivity?
