Good morning all

I would like to carry a hypo rescue kit in case I need it whilst I'm out and about and in work as I'm going to be taking more medication where I will be at higher risk of hypoing can anyone tell me what sort of things I need to put in it please

I carry with me short acting carbs like jelly babies & long acting carbs like a pack of mini cheddars.

If you’re covering all the bases you need your meter as all hypos should be confirmed with a finger prick test, lots of people carry dextrose tabs too.

I tend not to go far from home & so play it fast n’ loose but in the future I think I’ll be carry a full kit, especially if going out town for the day.

A glucose meter and sweets/glucose tabs.
I often have an apple or so as well in my bag for nudging up my BG a bit more gently.

I'm pretty new to taking insulin but I have one of those diabetes supply cases that carries my pens, meter, etc. and I've snuck a pack of dextrose tabs in there too. I admit I can't get any longer acting carbs in there easily but I keep a pack of something in the car for that.

I carry some dextrose tablets to fast treat a hypo and a cereal bar to provide some longer acting carbs

Fruit and dexter. I will eat fruit if my blood sugars are still above 3.5 mmol/l.

Dexter the serial killer??

I have jelly babies and usually a small carton of fruit juice, my BG decides which of those I use, I don't use both.
I tend not to have longer acting carbs unless I have active insulin, I was told as a pump user that it's not necessary.

I find carrying stuff I don’t like to eat helps.. jelly babies.. fruit pastels etc… no way they will make it to the end of the day.. I’d take great pleasure in biting their little heads off
