hypo symptoms with high bs reading

Hello. I have been T2 for 4 years and on insulin (humilin m3) for 2 1/2 years. I also take metformin. My usual blood sugar readings are between 7 and 12 (down from 26) but I have had 3.5 and 18 as well. Today at breakfast they were 9.2 (quite usual). Just before lunch I had my typical hypo warnings of palpitations and sweats - this usually occurs at less than 5 - but today my reading was 11.8. I had my usual lunch and this happened again at 4am. I haven't eaten any differently or done anything peculiar. Can anyone offer an explanation? I was wondering if it's the muggy weather.
Thanks
Sarah

People can experience what they call false hypo's when bg has been running high for a long time and normal bg levels return, howver this doesn't seem to be the case with you Sarah. Is there any chance that your 11.8 reading was a false reading and you were indeed hypo, sometimes just the smallest contamination on the fingers can give a false result.

Thanks for your reply. I retested later and reading 10.8 so obviously just running a bit high today. Hopefully everything will be back to normal tomorrow.
