Hypo treatment

For me it’s Lift glucose liquid. Straight in, and your body doesn’t have to digest or convert sugar to glucose because it’s already glucose. One bottle is 15g carb.

I don't try to find the fastest, I try to stop the hypo from happening.
This is via the Libre alarms so I can take a fast, but not fastest, acting GlucoTab.
I also suspend the basal dose on my pump at around 5.

I also try to stop the hypo before it’s happening, but sometimes even a constant eye on the libre whilst having a gentle stroll can cause a bad drop for me. I’m not on a pump so once that injection is in, extra carbs is my only option. Lift definitely does the job. Even if I only have a small mouthful to push back against the active insulin.

I ask because at the mo.and I an finding it hard ti raise my bs once I am low, my alarn goes off at 4.6, I have orange juice and glucose sweets, yet still drops to about 3..and just stays there for say 20mins. Thats why I need to know about the fastest thing to take.

Do you check your low and recovery with a finger pricks or are you relying on Libre?
Libre (and other CGMs) are well known to take longer to report a recovery and can under report lows (and over report highs).
This is why it is always recommended to check highs and lows with finger pricks before treating. The same goes for recovery times.

Lift tabs for me. I've got packs of them all over the place. Office desk, car, apartment, parents house. You name it.
My Dad has no awareness of diabetes whatsoever, and once decided they were nice sweets and just ate them all. Needless to say I borrowed his debit card to reorder!
