Hi everyone. I have a problem recently. I have been feeling foggy and exhausted all the times. After doing some research i found out that my blood sugar is running low.The cause for this is because i was eating a lot of sugar and carbs.Basically i have too much insulin in my body and its pushing my blood sugar down. After fasting by blood sugar was 4.1mmol/l.After fasting for 36hrs it fell to 3.2mmol. I have heard about LCHF diet.Has anyone with symptoms same as mine tried it and got positive results?I really want to know before i develop into diabetes.

Hi @Innocent10248 have you seen a doctor about how you are feeling and had any blood tests? How were you diagnosed as having prediabetes.

Tagging @Brunneria who has RH and does LC for some info for you

Hi and welcome!

Yes, same questions as @Alison Campbell

Have you had some proper investigation into your symptoms? Tests, etc. And a diagnosis?

The reason I ask is that there are several different reasons for hypoglycaemia in non diabetics, and your doc should be investigating them.

For my own experience (reactive hypoglycaemia) i find low carbing gives me excellent blood glucose control, but i wouldn't like to make any assumptions on your behalf

I noticed you have a glucometer!
Why we're you issued with it or did you buy one?
I have a condition that has Hypoglycaemia as a result of too much insulin.
I very low carb and I'm in control and healthy.

If you have Hypoglycaemia, control of the condition will lessen the probability of diabetes.

Unfortunately, you do need a diagnosis from an endocrinologist.
You have to get a referral from your GP.
Only hospital tests can give a definitive diagnosis.

We have our own forum, click on forums at the top of the page, scroll down to reactive hypoglycaemia, click on that sub forum. And read the information there.

Best wishes.
