4.5 to 4.9 Metfomin 2000 and Glicazide 300How low were your readings and what medications are you on?
Sorry typing error it should have been 30That's a pretty high dose of Gliclizade - you may need to drop the doseage on this - it is designed to stimulate the pancreas to produce more insulin - thereby dropping your BS levels down sharply. I was only on 80 a day (40 twice daily) - and my lowest when low carbing was 3.7 (at which point my hands would be shaky). I've kept on with the low carbing and have been able to come off Gliclizade completely now because of the weight loss and improved insulin sensitivity. Don't give up with the low carbing - this will be more beneficial to you long term. Chat with your doctor to see if you can drop your doseage.
i find one 40mg tab of Gliclazide is sufficient to drop my bgl by 6 mmol/l and is certainly responsible for my hypo's. I suggest that your dose of this med is too high, and you should discuss this with your GP I have reduced my dose of it from 320 mg/day to 80 and I am about to split this dose in half, and halve my Metformin too. I have also dropped some of my BP meds. All as a result of Low Carbing.4.5 to 4.9 Metfomin 2000 and Glicazide 300

4.5 to 4.9
Yes, so it isI think you'll find 30mg gliclazide is a modified release dose.
I have recently started the low carb diet which has resulted in my reducing my blood glucose levels leading to hypos and my deciding to stop the Low Carb diet
