Hypurin 30/70 problems

Hello everybody,
is there anybody out there who is on Hypurin Porcine 30/70 using it with a pen, the reason being my local Chemist can not get hold of any saying its the Whole sellers fault ? are you having problems getting hold of it, also if your using this whats it like and is there anything i should look out for as i have never used a pen with pre-mixed insulin before , many thanks Barry.

You could ring them and ask them, there is a phone number on their website under 'Contact Us'.

I don't use animal or pre-mixed insulin, but on the instructions for my insulin pen it covers what you need to do differently with these types of insulins so the insulin pen you will get will have instructions too. The pens need to be ordered separately to the insulin and you will need at least two, so you have a spare. On Wockhardt's website they say which pens are compatible - autopen classic.

i will go onto the sites you mentioned and find out some more, how long have you been a Diabetic and are you managing to lead a normal life as much as possible .
 
I was diagnosed about 5 years ago at the age of 21, they assumed it was type 2 despite my age because the metformin worked at first, but the dose of tablets kept having to be increased and then other tablets added to the metformin. After my blood sugar readings kept increasing dispite me loosing weight, in April this year I was tested for type 1 antibodies and the test was positive. I assume its LADA or similar due to the slow onset.

So I've been on insulin since April, NovoRapid and Levemir (in pens), and I feel much better, dispite a few mild hypos. Apart from having to remember to carry insulin and blood tester with me, and having to test my blood sugar, it doesn't really affect my day to day really. the pens are very easy to use and quite discreet eg for injecting in restaurants, more so than vials I would think?
 
It sounds that you know what your talking about, which is great I'm glad your feeling a lot better being on the insulin pen and not tablets who knows what the future will bring next for us , good luck and thanks.
