I’m addicted to DKA

So glad to hear that your are back in the game. Your past sucks but you definitely do not!! Looking forward to hearing your updates and don't worry if some of those are less positive than this one.

The best advice I would give you is to stay on the forum. Most people arrive here with rubbish control, but leave (or stay) with good control. There's no reason why you can't, but only you can change this.

I doubt there's a single person who has diabetes hasn't suffered from some degree of mental issues - having diabetes is hard. Certainly, your background will exacerbate this, but at least you can control your diabetes.

Take your insulin, go see your diabetes team (or GP, if you don't have one) and stay on here.

I had similar issues when I was first diagnosed because i was in complete denial, I still struggle now six years on. You are not alone, I've been on antidepressants to help and they do.

The first step is to acknowledge that this is a self attack! you need to see a good psychotherapist, psychodynamic, or analytic, which will help to reveal what is behind what is happening. Type 1 is not the problem here.
hope you manage to care about yourself enough to get some proper help, which I guess you do, otherwise you wouldn’t have posted. x

Thanks for getting back with us! Very happy to hear you regained some control over your insulin
Please keep updating and come back to us when things are bad as well. We can't substitute a loving family or some very good friends, but we have a lot of virtual shoulders to lean on!
Good luck!
