So this morning I eat breakfast and my sugars spiked to 17, I found out why my infusion set wasn't connected to my cannula properly. Anyway I checked my sugar a few hours later and they were 11 so I was like Yay time for some more food, and had 2 rolls, with cheese on mum made them in the oven. I checked when I woke up from the nap I had and bam 15. So what I'm trying to say is if I waited till i was 6-8 and eat I wouldn't have normal sugars now so why after I eat at 11, they went back up to 15 :/
If I were 11mmol/l before a meal I'd leave a longer time period between bolusing and eating @Type1Lad , this gives the insulin time to work and start lowering your bg before the food digests.
The book Think Like a Pancreas discusses bolus timings when your bg levels are outside your target range.
