I bought a new car today!

Nice work! Hope it does the job.
Does the Sprinter have an odd handbrake system? I never got the hang of the one I drove

I've been looking with my son this week for cars as he has just passed his test. We've found plenty of cars in his price range but it's the insurance, it's crippling. The cheapest has been £13,500 and the most expensive £42,000!! Shocking. These quotes were for a 13 year old 1.1L fiesta..

That is shocking  my teenager wants to learn to drive in 3 years time, I am trying to put a little more money in her post office account , but it is difficult sometimes, She loves the Mini, she's really keen on them , but I have said she will need to start off with a little second hand runaround  and then work her way up,:) I love the mini too, but I'm not a driver:oops:

Blimey! There are some advantages to getting old ;)

When my daughter passed her test she. took a pass plus course and her insurance came down by about the price of one years no claims bonus.

looks great, it's so exciting having a brand new car with the new car smell. Hope you have many happy journeys. :)

That's outrageous! Some of the insurance companies do a sort of "black box" which measures how you drive and the more carefully you drive the cheaper the premium. I don't know how kids today manage to get their no claims and it means the temptation to drive without is dreadful.

Oops just noticed a typo I've done wrong there. Cheapest was £3,500 not £13,500. Not having a good day!

Yes he's had quotes with one of those black boxes. Trouble is that some have certain times that you can't drive and he does shift work so sometimes don't finish till 2am or later so it might not benefit him

Problems from Day 1! The man who delivered my car to me smashed the rear view mirror on the journey. The garage I bought it from said to get it fixed locally and they'd pay for it, seeing as they're 100 miles away from where I live.
So, my village garage got the mirror in yesterday, I left the car with them and went to pick it up later to discover it hadn't been done. They didn't realise it was a heated mirror and had ordered the wrong one.
Took it in again today and left it with them, they phoned me 3 hours later and said they had been given the wrong mirror again!
have left it there and hope they get it done tomorrow, otherwise it might have to go to the Citreon main dealer for this area, which is in the middle of Plymouth and a nightmare journey, I hate driving in Plymouth!
