Hi You will learn huge amounts from people here. Like you, I struggled. 30 years ago I was put on a really tight regime. However, I am the opposite to most people and had to go from eating once a day to eating regularly. We were taught a bit differently in those days... However, I found (and you will to) that we aren't all robots and that there is flexibilty when we learn more. It is **** tough but thoughts nowadays are that if you can test and inject and know how to adjust your insulin then you can eat and drink etc the same as a non diabetic. However, this takes a while.. It doesn't magically happen overnight... But let me give you some hope. I'm now almost 52 years old. I'm still a size 8. I'm still fit and active and without complications. I still eat one meal a day although some healthcare and persons through the years have tried to get me to change. My nurse at my hospital is fantastic as she too low carbs, she too only eats one meal a day...my healthcare team believe in me. My nurse cares enormously for diabetics that struggle in coping. They want to see fit individuals that will care for themselves... They want to help. There are fantastic people here. You are never alone. Reach out and talk at anytime. You don't have to struggle alone.
