I DON'T BELIEVE IT!!

Hey no problem Zand. Hope your aunt's alright.
Yes she is OK. She has dementia and has had flu because the flu jab didn't work this year, so she's been even more confused since being ill. She lost her drugs, but I've found them so hopefully she will take them again now that she is feeling better physically. I'll go and check in a few days.

Hey donnellysdogs, no problem. I just knew there were 2 separate forms as there were 2 separate boxes, both of which were empty. She had to scan one that she found and give me that. Unfortunately the one she scanned was the other one for appointments which I didn't notice til I got home.
Yours must be a different system because I definitely had to show my driving licence for proof of name and address.

Glad to hear it. I had a neighbour once who used to come down to my workshop and watch me building trikes up and with him being a retired engineer his knowledge came in handy sometimes. Anyway all of a sudden he was diagnosed with Dementia and very quickly he started to forget things. The problem was when he used to come down we would talk about how can we do this and what shall we use for that etc etc and sometimes without thinking I would say "remember that whatsit thing we used yesterday" and as soon as I'd said it I remembered he couldn't remember. I felt so low. He has now moved to Cleveleys about 60 miles away so don't see him that often, but they do ring me every week to see how things are doing on the street.

That's sad but she is lucky to have you to care, so many older folks are just left by their family to get on with it. thankfully she has you.

I found with my Nan that treating her as if she was still totally compos mentis was important to her, otherwise she would get upset and say "I may not remember everything but until I forget you, don't treat me as a fool" so I didn't and I'm sure it gave her longer till she did forget me......

I have a saying for the NHS after dealing with so many parts of it....

"Clinically brilliant, administratively rubbish"
