I DON'T BELIEVE IT!!

And the moral of this story is.......don't go on holiday!! :)
lol yeh! :D I took a different view though....the holidays remained but I eventually got off the blood pressure drugs. ;) Seriously, it was the incentive I needed to really try hard with my diet and exercise. No more scary GP's receptionists for me. :)

Well I can now order my prescriptions online from my Drs surgery which is a great idea apart from fact that for some reason the Metformin is not shown as a repeat, so I still have to phone and request it! So every time I do this I ask if it can be made repeat so can order it online and they say will get it sorted! But six months in no change! So I complain every month.........
The online facility is supposed to make things easier but it does not in fact.

Nice deep breaths Adrian...you don't need to be stressed.....lol ......that was me being soothing :)

Last year my friend and her husband were going to America to visit their daughter for about 3 weeks.
Both needed extra prescriptions.
Friend was told by the receptionist, ( in a sarcastic tone ) You've already had a holiday request this year.
My friend was so mad!

Very long time ago, we had to rush our son to hospital, it was another fit, due to a high temperature. He was only two.
About 4 days in hospital, blood tests lumber punch.
It turned out I should have increased his medication. Blood from previous hospital stay. Hospital had written to gp. We were never told.

Each time I went to reception for repeat scrip. If son had been in hospital or visit.
I would make the receptionist get his note out and double check. She didn't like me, i just said, if you lot had checked last time my son would not have had a fit!!
Funny she was always very polite after that.

To go online with our Practice uou have to join up to do the whole thing online ie appointments, cancelling and prescriptions.
You don't get one without the other, in fact you will find it very handy to book an appointment if needed by doing it online, as generally there is more appointments free at the touch of a button.
Just because you have signed up online it doesn't mean to say that you can't phone, or as I do have the chemist and GP sort out my scripts. However, when my hubby couldn't get an appointment this week I just looked online and found him one... (He hates computers)....

Your receptionist has done right... You have jumped right
In as many patients do and assumed the receptionist is wrong... She isn't. You are wrong.

I'm sorry to tell you but it's you that's wrong. I went back again today and explained what happened and ended up filling the right form out at the surgery. I also needed to show proof of ID before I came away with the information that allows me to repeat my prescriptions online.
There are 2 separate forms, 1 for prescriptions and 1 for appointments. Both need a different ID no. to allow access when online.

Depends which system your practice uses.. Ours uses EMIS and patient access. No proof, no id, sent away with one form with your personal number on it. Receptionist does it in seconds.

Sorry... There are a couple of different systems that Gp's use. I'm so used to trying to get our patients signed up online and telling them the benefits and how to do it I forgot other systems. Apologies...
