Yet again, every little thing I get whether it be a headache, a sore knee etc I put down to my diabetes. Last week I went to the pharmacist as I had a circle like mark on my hand. The Pharmacist said it was ringworm and gave me a steroid cream, this seemed to help and its more or less gone. But once again, my health anxiety started and I was back on the internet looking this up. Yesterday suddenly I had a very small spot on my hand near to where the ring worm was, it was sore, and again I was back on the net looking this up. For the last couple of days my knee joints have been sore. In bed my right leg at the back feels numb and sometimes my fingers and hands. My left leg at the moment feels achy and numbish. I suppose what I'm saying is that I've been looking this up on the net and i'm wondering if its diabetic Neuropathy???
Yes I do suffer from health anxiety, but these symptoms are real. Please could someone help me or if you have these symptoms what do I do???

Hello Nikki

I think you need to see a GP, if at all possible.

I have numbness in one of my feet, I also am in a lot of pain and take medication for it, it's classed as neuropathy but I think only a GP can help you.

Looking things up on the internet is not a good idea, you can scare yourself silly. Especially since you have health anxiety. Have you seen a GP about ths? If not, it may be a good idea to ask your GP for help. I am sure there is lots of help available.

Hi Nikki,
One of the worst things you can do is search on the net for your symptoms and then diagnose yourself. Doctors advise against it because lots of illnesses have very similar symptoms. The best thing you can do is make an appointment to visit your doctor who should hopefully be able to give you the best advice. They will be able to run tests to see if this is diabetic neuropathy. Without knowing more about your health and your medical history - it would be really hard for anyone on here to offer you more advice.

Good Luck

Hello nikki, are you on any meds for your diabetes? And what sort of foods are you consuming and in what amounts? Plus whats your bs readings currently( hba1c) , the symptoms you describe may be neuropathy, but you need to see a diabetic specialist to confirm .
Please be assured that most if not all of what your describing can be reversed by good control.keep posting here and you will get the answers.
