Hi all,
I'm starting another thread because I wanted to talk about something slightly different. We (me and my boyfriend, he's not diabetic) started LCHF on Saturday. So far, it's been awesome for me - I lost 1.1kg so far (35% of fat on Sat, 33.7% today!) and I feel great. My BG is awesome (literally FLAT), apart from my basal which I'm lowering and lowering as I'm hypoing around 3-4am - I'm working on that (went from 27u to 24u so far).
Even with hypos at night, my Dexcom hasn't been this quiet since I got it!
BUT! Sat-Sun I only took 2x 0.5u of bolus each day. Yesterday and today I took NONE (zero) u of bolus. So I'm basically going a second day only on my basal. Apart from my morning hypo treatments, I seem to be eating less than 10g of carbs throughout the whole day. I think maybe my still a bit too high basal is taking care of those tiny amounts? Or am I just that lucky? I really hope I can stay bolus-free when my basal is stable again...
I'm in ketosis for most time: 0.5 - 1.5 mmol/l according to Ketostix. Are those normal levels or should I expect higher?
It's been the best 4 days since I was diagnosed. I can basically forget I have diabetes and do whatever I want, whenever I want, without even thinking about my BG.
