Dislikes
soaps on telly and people talking about the characters as if they were real.
As I said I would, I went up to London to the discussions on the proposed NHS constitution
Met Bob aka Tubolard ( what lovely handwriting, that man has)
We discussed all day, on topic and off topic and covered loads of flipchart papers in writing.
We definitley got the point over that we like to be involved in care decisions, but we were hardly a typical group of service users. At least one degree between two of us, I would guess.
Lots of very intelligent people making valid points
including
Healthcare professionals should have a duty to keep up to date on knowledge.
Education,education,education!
good manners work both ways!
Once decided on, the constitution should become part of NHS employee contract.
Loads! so much I forget a lot of it
Perhaps Tubs remembers better.

There was one woman who told me that trying to keep my BGs in the 4s and 5s is pointless. and one man who said that in one PCT area all the diabetics have urine dipsticks, so that if they show a positive, they report in to the doctor. I wasn't sure how good that is, but better than nothing I suppose.
I did a fair bit of low-carb preaching, especially to the DUK staff who were working there.

Received this from DUK today, a summary of all the comments made during the NHS Constitution Consultation event arranged by them.

Regards, Tubs.

The thoughts documented in my previous post on this thread were submitted by DUK to the Consultation Advisory Forum on 23 October. The NHS Chief Exec, Ann Keen and the DUK chief exec were present. Apparently
The Advisory Forum were clearly influenced by many of the things you had to say and David Nicholson expressed his gratitude to you all for taking the time to give your views

Regards, Tubs.
