I want a pump

Hey guys
I really really want a pump, how do I get one????

First step- speak to the diabetic team at your hospital . If you are not attending a diabetic clinic, ask your GP to refer you.

Good luck!

As Heathenlass says, you have to discuss it with your diabetes team to see if a pump would be suitable to you.

Anything from two weeks for me..but I was lucky, I had a fantastic hospital and went through a bad incident...and could prove conclusively I knew how to carb count and nothing could improve my levels on mdi..

Unfortunately, the wait for an insulin pump can sometimes be 12 weeks or longer. For the funding to be approved from a CCG, a consultant has justify a reason.....look at NICE TA151 to read what the reasons can be. If you havent got any knowledge of using a carb ratio and altering it, then you might need to go on a DAFNE course first. The best website to look at regarding obtaining a pump, is INPUT.
