Hello!

I've noticed that in the US, they have released an blood glucose meter which connects to an iPhone. http://www.bgstar.com/web/ibgstar

Does anyone know if anything like this is likely to be released in the UK anytime soon?

Thanks

hi,

I'm lucky enough to be trialling this for Sanofi Aventis. I went to my regular clinic appointment and whipped out my iPhone where I currently log my blood sugars, and my nurse said they were looking for people to trial this meter which plugs into the bottom of your iPhone. I've been using it a week or so and it's great from a handbag point of view - so very small. The test strips require hardly any blood, and it is very very reliable. The only downside I can say at the moment is that if you are going low and verging on the shakes, it's so small it's quite difficult to handle.
The data downloads straight on to your phone, which is great, but I don't think the data is as good as my diabetes iPhone app.
At the end of the trial I have a big questionnaire to fill in for feedback. It might be worth mentioning it to your healthcare trust as they could well be testing it too.

regards, Paula
