IBS anyone?

Hi
Is anyone having IBS, I don't know what's causing it but I have all symptoms of ibs, dull pain on upper abdomen, on metformin so it could be that?
Medicines is 2 mets a day and 1 statin
Bg between 4.5 to 6.1(max) unless I miss some peaks.
 
from what I've heard it my be the meds - I've never had o take meds yet so can't say from personal experience

Hi have you been diagnosed with IBS , so many symptoms with it .......
 
Well i havent been diagnosed but i have all the symptoms. I was diagnosed in august and i have heard metformin is terrible for stomach. It could be trapped wind too but not sure.
 
Metformin is well known to cause symptoms like IBS like very loose motions, bloating etc. It may be worth asking if you can take the slow release version and see if that makes a difference. It would also be worth keeping a food diary so you can check if there is anything that seems to trigger it. For some reason strawberries set me off to the loo several times a day so I have to balance the fact I love strawberries and accept I'm going to have problems.
