Type 2 If I am around 5.0 on awaking and then I do another finger prick 30 minutes later, I have dropped to about 4.5 or less. Anyone had this experience?

I’m guessing that your body is anticipating your need for energy and your pancreas is producing enough insulin to counter the rise. Not everyone has this dawn phenomena effect. I know sometimes I hardly get a rise but usually my blood starts rising just after 3 am and continues to climb to between 8 ~ 10 mmol/s but sometimes it doesn’t.
