If perfect control was possible...

Bear with me for a second...

In a perfect world where a type 1 diabetic could control their glucose levels as perfect as a non-diabetic would the possibility of complications reduce to the level of a non-diabetic having similar problems? And would mortality be the same as well? Or is high glucose levels one factor/cause of long term complications?

Thanks

Kris

I am probably wrong but I think the insulin we inject can cause problems

Difficult to say one way or another how close it would be but keeping tight control gives us the best chance possible.

As noblehead suggests it hard to be certain.. I am of the opinion however that the closer to normal blood glucose I can achieve the less likely the chance that I will suffer from diabetic related complications..
