Hi everyone, I’ve just started Victoza for T2, 17 years, and it’s working already—in the second day. But I’m feeling weak and ill with the lower numbers, similar to hypoglycaemia. They’re down quite a bit, but still higher than they should be so these are faux lows. I’m hoping I’ll adjust to this. I’m wondering if anyone else has had this experience?

Welcome @Cait 2
Over time our bodies get used to the high levels of blood sugar, so when those levels improve it can feel a little strange until we get used to the new levels.
It's important not to treat a false hypo, because giving in to it and having something to raise your levels will just mean that it takes longer for you to acclimatise.
False hypos are not dangerous, just uncomfortable, but do keep checking because I believe Hypoglycaemia is listed as a rare but possible side effect of Victoza.

Thank you, catinahat. What time period does it usually take to adjust?

A difficult question because there are so many variables and your diabetes is unique to you.
Personally though I think that if my levels had been stable for a few days and I was still feeling weak and unwell, I would be thinking about seeing my Dr, just incase there was something else going on
