I do not have diabetes
My partner has diabetes and was diagnosed at the age of 15 (he is now 23). Recently he has been feeling really unwell. In the last year he has had 2 cases of shingles, ringworm, flu, swollen glands and just feeling unwell most of the time. His work are concerned about his attendance which has added more stress to his situation. Although he went to the doctors today to have blood tests.
Does anyone else have these symptoms/problems with their diabetes ?

I think I'd say he's been unlucky. I've been diabetic for 26 or so years and in that time I've not had a huge issue with being ill. I used to get sinusitis when run down towards the end of term at university, but in reality I've found that I've not really suffered from bugs or major illnesses. I think my worst was Norovirus earlier this year, when I had to take 3 days off work.

If he is feeling unwell a lot of the time, the question I would ask is how good is his control? If he is suffering from high blood sugars, he is likely to not feel at all well. Can you help us understand that?

his diabetes was very bad up until 2/3 years ago and now his control is the best it has been. he had his blood's taken recently and on average it was 7.6 which the doctors were happy with

he has been to the doctors today for lots of different blood tests I was just curious to whether it is 'normal' for how he's feeling
