If you decide to go lchf that may help with cholestrol as it has done for may on here.Jack: That’s really interesting, thank you, all noted……what I have, done, without the GP’s permission, is to stop taking Statins, not sure if I should have done that, but following a read on the effects on the kidneys, I decided to stop the tablet and see what the results are, on my next blood test.
Hello and welcome.
I was 58 last June but last October I was 46 ,I get my next test next month.
Follow the advice on diet, and your BS will soon come down.
I had to pack the statins in too but .... cholesterol slowly improving through diet.
Stick with us paddytaff and you'll be a winner.
Hello and welcome paddywelsh! Have a good read at the advice and experiences on here, two days after diagnosis late June last year I was on here and have never looked back! Hba1c was 61 and in 18 weeks I had achieved a non-diabetic 38 by ignoring nhs advice......by January this year I was able to stop meds and now maintaining non- diabetic level by diet and exercise, lost over 5 stone too! My nurse is amazed and thrilled ! Keep posting and asking questions
Welcome to the forum.
Like many others here I uses the SD Codefree meter and it has become my best friend at meal times. Check before and then 2 hours after eating and try and keep the rise below 2 points. To start with you might want to check at the 1 and the 3 hour marks just to find our when certain food peak.
If you keep following the NHS advise and measure you will probably find that the spike is far higher, or it could be that your body still produces enough insulin, isn't too resistant yet and if you portions sizes are small enough you might be alright. Really the only way to be sure is to test. Trial and testing is the only way to be sure, but the results are worth it.
Yea but don't they do like ten gallons to the mile?Greetings......Hymers, truly the most well built of all motor homes....this is my 5th.

This is a good listen (maybe when you take the pets out) about NHS dietary advice been challenged.
It ends with the NHS bod admitting their advice 'needs reviewing.'
