Still don't know what type I am. When first diagnosed in March I was told I was type 1. Saw GP in sept who told me 'as he was more experienced than the hospital' I am type 2 (no tests etc - he can just tell!). Diabetic nurse laughed when I told her, then found the test which identifies the type had gone missing! Saw specialist at hospital today - he laughed when I told him what GP had said, but still wouldn't commit or test again! He just stated they want to control my system regardless of which type I am. He mentioned meta for min (which I thought was for type 2s) then opted not to go for that. Even when I asked him about different causes of type 1 & 2 I just couldn't tie him down at all. He just told me to eat regularly, blood test more frequently at different times of the day rather than before meals as I was told to do by diabetic specialist nurse then he'll see me again in 3 months to decide on next steps. No mention of DAFNE (or any similar courses). Really confused now.
