Being type 1, my health and what really grates me are false people who make themselves out to be something when their not
Hello,
Over the last couple of weeks I've been basal testing and the tests were coming out great till about a week ago when I tried to do the night time tests .
Second night of testing I had a hypo probably my own fault, and corrected it by scoffing as much as I could munch in the shortest time as possible and just went back to bed
Obviously woke up with the ultimate sweet parrots cage stuck to my tounge and mouth, this has now given me the urge to just eat through the day and evening anything I fancy you name it I'll eat it and count the carbs and pump the pump.
I don't really like sweet things my bloods are around 7-9 not really high I've had a couple of hypos and I turn into the ravenous monster it's getting daft to the extent I'm not a happy bunny no more. I fee sluggish and rough and carb and insulin intake is through the roof.
I start my next pump on the 24th and I'm so looking forward to it and I did wonder if I'm like just having a bachelor fling with my old type pump and i will get it out my system BUT what if I don't !!!. Has anyone else had this at all?

I found it hard doing the all night basal tests and got to the stage when i was testing every hour. If it wasn't a test i don't think i would have gone as low as i did . I didn't Hypo but come close. down to 3.9 at 8 am. Then breakfast save me.:)
Because it was bit low I've changed my basal and now i have to do another one:(

The temptation to eat everything in sight is always there when we hypo and it does take some self-control to hold back, but don't be put off doing the night-time basal check as this is the most important one of them all.

Hope all goes well with the new pump :)

Hi caretaker yep it is s bit tough doing the nighttime ones although I'm up really early most mornings and bed late, I know my nighttime basal will need changing its just I seem to be making up for all the rubbish food I've not eaten whilst pumping and it's like my Diabetes is playing mind games with my flipping taste buds

Well I decided yesterday morning after my post and a couple of replies to try and kick my **** into gear and shake the stupid head off and get my diabetes head back on track. Had a good day bloods went fine and we had old school mummy over for dinner who fed me through the early diabetic days and she was trying to help my misses with carb counting and diet. Still wanted to eat when and anything I liked but didn't, had a slow oncoming hypo at 8pm but instead of food shovelling down my throat I had a banana and sat doing nothing and felt ok at 10 to go to bed with bloods of 7.4 and got up to a 8.4 this morning so I've now got to keep my desire for snacking reigned in and hopefully I can get back to being a happy bunny diabetic

Yep definitely some fine tuning needed !

Nice one, your overnight bg levels only shifted by 1mmol which is very good:)
